Where a classic enduro tyre starts to spin — wet rocks, roots, steps, low-speed obstacle crossings — that is this one’s playground. Fitted in 140/80-18 (reference 033246), it is road approved, which lets you ride to the zone under your own steam.

Extreme enduro does not ask for the same thing as a fast-flowing special stage. You need traction at very low speed, grip on uneven footing, and a tyre that accepts working at low pressure without unseating. That is the riding the Waygom Enduro Race Extreme extreme enduro tyre targets, in competition as well as in training.

ECE and F.I.M. approved

The tyre is ECE approved, for legal use on the open road, and F.I.M. approved, for official competitions. You ride to the start, you take on the special stage, you ride home: the same tyre covers all three.

Which Waygom enduro tyre should you choose?

Waygom offers three approved enduro ranges. They are not aimed at the same kinds of riding:

• Enduro Tyres — the versatile range, for the Sunday ride and fast-flowing trails. Available in 90/90-21, 90/100-21 and 140/80-18.
• Extreme Enduro Tyres — for stony and rocky terrain, for occasional or regular riding. Available for the front and the rear.
• Enduro Race Tyres — the tyre for demanding riders, in training as well as in competition, in 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-18 at the rear.
• Enduro Race Extreme — this page: the top of the range, developed with extreme enduro riders for the most technical special stages.

The choice comes down to your actual riding, not your level: a fast rider on dry trails will be better served by an Enduro Race than by a tyre cut out for obstacle crossing.
